The first-ever Disability Power & Pride Inaugural Ball was an evening of music, food, fun, & dancing, of reuniting with old friends & meeting new ones, of inspiring remarks & hilarious quips. Tony Coelho served as emcee and welcomed several honored guests to the podium, including Melody Barnes and Tina Tchen from the White House, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, and Senator Tom Harkin. The stirring rhythms of Jukeboxx kept the energy flowing throughout the night, supplemented by captivating performances by Bill (the “Crutchmaster”) Shannon and actress/comedian Geri Jewell. None of us who attended will ever forget it. You can experience a little of this amazing event by clicking on “A Night to Remember"

The Disability Power & Pride Inaugural Ball was an unforgettable party. But it was so much more than that. It signaled a new level of prominence in our political power and community pride. To keep the momentum going, we are establishing a Platform for Power and Showcase for Pride—the Committee on Disability Power & Pride.
